The 2015 Kenda Tennessee Knockout Enduro was a huge success! Many eyes were on the ensuing battle between two-time champ Cody Webb and Extreme Enduro specialist Jonny Walker. 2015 Kenda TKO Enduro
Rocks, Logs & Riders, Oh My!
The 2015 Kenda Tennessee Knockout Enduro was a huge success! Many eyes were on the ensuing battle between two-time champ Cody Webb and Extreme Enduro specialist Jonny Walker. Webb has always looked unstoppable at the hard enduro event since his first win two years ago. But with a rider like Walker coming to compete at the event, there was much speculation as to how Webb would fair against the Brit.
An interesting addition to this years event was the presence of Red Bull. They seem to have entered the ring as the energy drink sponsor, but on a small scale this year. 2016 has the potential to be the biggest year for the TKO Enduro, with possible Red Bull TV coverage. Should Woody host the event for them? Yes, we think so!
Jason Hooper and his FGSE MyLaps transponders were a very welcome sight. In the past, the biggest hiccup was the paper and pen scoring system. The nail biting and wondering has now been replaced with immediate high-fives and friendly condolences.
The Moose Racing sponsored BBQ is always a welcome treat! Jump in line quickly because the line forms fast. If you are back in the line a bit, it’s best to come prepared with a beverage of your choice.
This camera look familiar? Then you’re probably a Chad Reed fan. Cody Webb wasn’t offered the $500,000 contract that Reed was, but we’re sure there will be some negotiations in the near future.
James Hill and Woody walk the Hot Lap course with Rachel Gutish. Her main concern was not going over the handle bars. As long as that didn’t happen, she considered it a win.
We were stoked when it was announced Kyle Redmond would be on the Beta Racing team. He has shown he has what it takes to compete at the top and we’re happy he’s off privateer island.
Here is the man many had their eyes on. Jonny Walker was very focused as Cody Webb started his Hot Lap. Walker wanted to see Cody’s speed and lines to make sure he would be making the best choices for himself.
The start of the final knockout race. Taylor Robert with the holeshot. Doubling these logs from the start takes some serious skill.
Jonny Walker quickly jumps into the lead on the first lap. His illness must have held him back, as he let Webb by after exiting the waterfall section.
Colton Haaker applied a little too much front brake and went over the bars. This caused Mike Brown and Cory Graffunder to get creative and work their way around the Husqvarna rider.
Quite a few videos and pictures have been posted of this moment in time. It wasn’t pretty. We were right there to help Palmer up; somehow he continued to ride and finished the event.
Jonny Walker rode awesome. He showed determination and fought through jet lag and illness to prove why he’s the #1 Hard Enduro rider in the world right now.
Wild Wally Palmer, doing what he does best. He may be banged up and bruised, but he still knows how to entertain the fans.
Don’t be fooled, this is not the tire Wally Palmer just smoked out. This is Taylor Robert’s rear tire after the final knockout. Worn out, for sure!
Cody Webb, Jonny Walker & Taylor Robert, your 2015 Kenda Tennessee Knockout podium.
Thank you again for another great event. We had an epic time at the event, seeing old friends and making new ones. We’re already looking forward to the 2016 TKO Enduro.
