Riding tight single track is about looking ahead. You need to lean your bike against the flow of the trail, and use your body weight to counter-weight the direction you’re pointing the bike. In the Instagram Reel above, this tight right hand turn was perfectly suited to showcase how to maneuver your body around the tree, not the bike.
The bike stays as close to the tree as you can keep it while turning. If you don’t move your body out of the way, you’re so close you’ll tag the tree. You need to time your upper body movement so that you are literally wiggling around the tree. There is also counter-weighting happening so that you can lean the bike over even more.
If you look right at the very end, I also start to lean forward. This is to counter-act the front wheel wanting to come up due to me getting on the gas.
