The US Hard Enduro Series came to West Texas to take on the loose, dry conditions of the Caprock Canyons. Will Riordan commandingly took his first win, Cody Webb threw a chain, working his way back up to second place, and Colton Haaker fought through an eye injury for third on the podium.

Though the number of racers were low at the Snake Bite Hard Enduro, the STOKE was high from the racers. The format was a 30 mile loop that ended on the Nine Hills section by camp. From their, the racers had to complete four laps of the shorter Nine Hills loop. They had to do all of this in four hours. Many thought the race would be over much sooner than it was, the checkered flag coming out around 3:30 hours in to the four hour time limit. To put it into perspective, the winner of the A Class, Dylan Santoro , only completed three laps total.

I hope this event continues on in the years to come. The Lubbock Trail Riders learned a lot about what it takes to put on a hard enduro. These two wheeled hard enduro enthusiasts want terrain a traditional enduro wouldn’t cover. They want to be challenged, they want to fail, and they want a different sense of accomplishment at the end of the race.
