Seat Time with the Green Brothers : Tweet the Deets
Dalton and Dillon Green are some of the most fun guys to hang out with. The boys were raised by a Pro Dirt Track racer by the name of Randy Green, and he is a great dude as well. The family lives in Rhome, TX where they do what normal families do; they go to school, they work and they laugh and play together. What this family does that is far from normal is they race dirt bikes as much as humanly possible. The boys are fast, and they are getting faster. Randy, even though he has some miles on him, can still put a whooping on the dudes in his age class (which is still the A class). And mom, well mom is a throttle twister as well. She bobs and weaves with all the other ladies in her age class. They are competitive in their own way, but will easily help a competitor out if help is needed. So it’s easy to say that Dalton and Dillon have great role models and will continue to grow into fine young men. (more…)
Episode 56 : Right About There
With the Season Opener of the Endurocross Series on Friday Night and the Supercross Season wrapping up on Saturday night in Las Vegas, there were plenty of race results to talk about and plenty of action to create a Pint Full of Awesome with. Cecil Parker and Brian Pierce : Helmet Cam at The Pit
My redneck buddy, Cecil Parker, is one of the most fun people to hang out with. And he is super fast on a dirt bike, which is great because it helps push me and we always get a good pace going. When we were at the TCCRA race at The Pit this past month, we threw a GoPro on and took a lap around the track. Obviously we cut it down a bit to make sure that it was consumable by the internet audience (impatient viewers). For those that enjoy carnage though, Woody has a good head swap that sends him high-siding over the bars and Cecil attempts a log crossing that goes wrong. 2012 GNCC Limestone Rd6 : Russell/Delong/Whibley
XC1 Kailub Russell with another impressive win making this his 4th win of the year. XC2 Steward Baylor and Andrew Delong had a crazy battle going until Andrew capitalized on Steward’s bike problem which led Andrew to the XC2 win and an impressive 2nd Overall right ahead of Paul Whibley.. 2012 Cajun Classic Enduro Report : A Comedy of Errors
This past weekend, I attended the 2012 Cajun Classic National Enduro in Forest Hill, Louisiana. For those that don’t know, those woods can get super tight and humid. When a breeze is present, it typically helps keep you cool in the nasty tight tree sections; but when there is no breeze, it’s 90+ degrees and the humidity feels like it is 110%, you have to switch to survival mode to finish. And that is where I found myself by the end of the 68 mile Enduro; Head down, reminding myself to breath, and doing everything I could to make sure I kept the rubber side down. But this write up isn’t just about the race and the trail, this is an article about an interesting weekend and the onslaught of stupidity that haunted me. (more…)
2012 J Day Offroad Series : Barnes Way GP
J Day Offroad Series seems like a new take on the older cross country style of racing. WORCS tried to do the same thing, but they went more moto. These guys take the Motorcross format of two 30 minute motos, keep a shorter track and just pin it. Regardless of people’s thoughts of the Series, Rob Mitchell did a hell of a job with this edit. He picked some rock music, got some wicked footage and BAM, created awesome! Glad to see some more offroad edits that make me wanna get out and twist the throttle.
GEICO EnduroCross Series Opener : Las Vegas
The GEICO EndurCross Series kicked off at the Orleans hotel arena off the strip in Las Vegas, Nevada and MXPTV got the action from the night’s qualifying and main event action! (more…)
2012 NEPG Round Five : Cajun Classic National Enduro
Round 5 of the National Enduro Series was this past weekend in Forest Hill, Louisiana. The race was put on by the Acadiana Dirt Riders in the piney woods of the Kisatchie National Forest. Louisiana is a humid state and the woods at the Cajun Classic have a history of being tight. I am happy to say that the club did not disappoint with the trail that they marked. The course was just over 68 miles long and anyone who finished should be proud to say they did. Being a bit dry and dusty, the trail was fast and flowy, until the last 4 miles of the race. This is where it got super tight, tiring and really humid. There was no air flow, 100% humidity and trees after trees of bark buster product testing. (more…)
